GHS M7200-5 Pressurewound Electric Bass 5-String 44-128 Medium

I ordered GHS Pressurewounds to try them for my 5-string fretless - up till now it was stringed with flats, but I was looking for brighter sound and this "mwah" :-). And I got it ! With these strings playing my fretless become even more pleasurable, it got much more growl and punch than on flats - hope they won't be eating my fretboard. The strings arrived exactly on time I expected, no problem with delivery, I can recommend both the Pressurewounds and SBM.

Used SBM for my last few orders of GHS Pressurewounds which I cannot find locally (even in a relatively large city). Packages arrive ahead of schedule and always have a nice hand written note - I even got some stickers which I now happily rock on my case. I haven't had to use their customer service yet but based on everything else I'm assuming it's great.

I discovered GHS Pressurewounds about 7 years ago based on the advice of a friend whom I respect. I have played them on my Jazz Bass ever since and now play them on my G&L L2500.

If I was ever forced to select only one string to play on all of my basses GHS Pressurewounds would be that string. They have great feel and are the most versatile and expressive strings I've ever played.

I put a set of these on my 5-string fretless bass, and they have the sound and feel I've been searching for. They have great low/mid punch and growl (I'm NOT looking for the Jaco tone) and one of the best low B strings I've ever played. All of the top end sizzle that I would get with roundwound strings is gone, but there's still plenty of attack and definition to each note. They are very responsive to dynamic playing, and I like the (what I would call) stiffness of the strings under the right hand. I'm a convert.
