GHS N52 Nickel Rockers .052 Rollerwound Pure Nickel Single String

I have discovered the benefits and beauty of Rollerwound strings. They occupy the sonic space halfway between flatwound strings and roundwound strings.

Brighter than flatwounds, but mellower than roundwounds. Also roundwounds tend to have a more present sound of scratchy strings. Rollerwounds are an acceptable compromise of having a bright sound with less fingernoise from the friction of moving across the wound strings.

Rollerwounds are also sometimes referred to as “Semiflats” or “Halfwounds”. They’re all pretty much the same thing, just halfway between flatwounds and roundwounds.
