Paisje for piano is not a well known work by Enrique Granados. I set about doing a more or less verbatim transcription of this work for guitar, but realized it wouldn’t sit well on the instrument that way. I then decided to get creative and not honor the original score’s voicing and modulations and produce a new work with a strong flavor of the piano setting. It’s more hybrid than transcription. It’s become a favorite of mine to play and clocking in at around seven minutes, its not-too-long, not-too-short length works well in concert programs.
