In 2012, we began planning a concert program that was intended to be new, varied, and reflect the present day. The goal was for it to include music written by some of Sweden’s most prominent living composers. With this CD, we present six new pieces in the repertoire for flute and guitar. Having new works composed for our duo is not just enjoyable. It is an obvious necessity if we are pass our musical heritage forward, as our predecessors have done since Giuliani and Diabelli in the 19th-century. It is a task that will never end.
