Myrna Sislen Youth Guitar Competition
These Three Preludes were composed during the summer of 2024 as a commission for the 2025 Marlow Guitar International Myrna Sislen Youth Guitar Competition, organized by Marlow Guitar International. When I was invited to write these pieces, I wanted to create something that would both challenge and inspire young guitarists, while also working as a cohesive set suitable for concert performance. Each prelude is written for a different level of player, progressing from early intermediate to advanced, and each one explores distinct techniques while maintaining a sense of stylistic unity.
