LaMancha Opalo SX Nylon String Classical Guitar 4/4

My teacher and I both spent a lot of time playing my current Cordoba Iberia C7 and the new Opalo after a couple of days from receipt to allow the instrument to acclimate. In a head to head comparison the winner was very apparent; the Opalo is clearly a better instrument.

The overall sound of the Opalo is much more refined and balanced than the C7 and my practice time has increased because I simply love playing the Opalo more!

The C7 is heavy in the bass with a loud booming voice that has to be controlled through the right hand. The Opalo requires no such control and plays in a much more balanced and rounded fashion.

In the higher registers, the clarity of the Opalo far outperformed the C7 both for intonation and timbre producing a ringing, bell like sound all the way to the rosette.

Since both instruments are priced about the same, there is no question the Opalo is a better value instrument. You can't lose with this one. And as an added bonus, it is simply a gorgeous axe with the rich balanced colors.
