Modelled after fragments of J.S. Bach’s Prelude from Suite BWV 1006, Preludio Allegorico is dedicated to Brazilian guitarist Alisson Alípio. It is written in a similar fashion as Preludio Boreal (DZ 3638), except for the Bach reference, which is a nod to one of the dedicatee’s favorite pieces, and that it leans more into extended tonality and counterpoint.
