Martin | Album de la inocencia for solo guitar

I had never heard of this composer or his work, but I heard someone playing a piece from it and loved it and found this collection on Strings By Mail. It has some really good rather easy studies that are quite musical, and it has a couple of really nice rep pieces as well. Good purchase!

Álbum de la Inocencia is a collection of ten relatively easy pieces. The first five I would consider etudes that prepare you for the five short compositions that follow. My favorite among them is Mirándote. Mirándote has a lovely melody with interesting melodic phrasing. Written in D-major, in 4/4 time, it's tuned to a dropped 6=D. Rhythmically, the melodic phrases mostly start on the upbeat of 4 followed by an arpeggiated counter melody in the bass. Friends and neighbors will enjoy listening to it when they ask for a tune at your next backyard social gathering.

As the title suggests, this is an album of easy guitar pieces. I purchased this book for the piece "Mirandote" , which is a very beautiful piece (in dropped d tuning).

The pieces on this book are easy, yet surprisingly musical and very pleasing. Professor Martín is an excellent source of good, not so well known repertoire for the classical guitarist.
