Newtone Archtop Double Wrap ARCH-1356 Electric Guitar Strings 13-56

While these strings are a double wound string, the look almost exactly like a regular round wound string. I was slightly nervous because I wanted to maintain a jazzy tone on my d'armond but give it a little versatility (chromes were on the guitar previously). I was blown away by the sound these strings give. They are so warm and dark sounding its remarkable. I always felt my guitar was too bright even with the flatwounds, but not any more. The lovely part is they also can sound more modern with some guitar tweaking, extremely versatile. They sound good clean and under distortion and they have a superior flexibility that flatwounds don't have.

If you want a jazz string that can work for other styles of music too, I would sincerely recommend these strings.

PS> These strings have a slight bent portion near each end... ITS AMAZING, made stringing up the tailpiece super easy and I had no problems threading the tuners either. Small feature, but very thoughtful.
