Raymond | Sakura's Flowers for solo guitar

Sakura's Flowers is another highly melodic piece from Jean Marie Raymond. Somewhat of character piece--possibly relating to the life cycle of flowers.... It begins feeling a bit nostalgic with a Larghetto introduction. It then picks up the pace a bit with Pui mosso—con spirito. The melody is carried on the E and B strings sounding melancholy to joyful. A key change to Dmin for 8 bars and then back to D maj to finish the middle section of the piece. It then moves back to the 8th bar repeating the beginning idea of the piece to the ending---closing with some nice harmonics. Sakuras's Flowers is four and a half pages consisting of 99 bars. There are no numbered tempo markings. The piece's final tempos, phrasing, and tone colors are entirely up to the individual player. It flows well under the hand with the suggested fingerings and as usual, the typical excellent d'Oz typesetting. Sakura's Flowers is an easy listening piece well worth playing for a recital or gig.
