Roux | Au sommet des gorges for solo guitar

This new composition from Patrick Roux is a feat for any high level guitarist. It's beauty and grandiosity is comparable in scope to Mussorgsky's wall of sound in "The Great Gates of Kiev". At only 2.5 pages and largely made up of quarter and half notes, visually, it doesn't seem too challenging. However, it features many challenges, most notably in the extended chords, dense harmony/internal voices, and the struggle to maintain a legato melody over large chord changes.

The rewards of this piece are immense if the time is taken to respect its many challenges. Truly a treat to play such a jewel!
