Description: The Estudio model by German Vazquez Rubio represents one of the best values in handmade instruments. This well-loved guitar is fun to play with a nice low action, exceptional volume, and a lovely tone character. It easily outperforms other production guitars in this price range and would serve well as a teaching or gig guitar, or even as a concert instrument. The Estudio guitars are handmade instruments similar to German’s concert models, but they are made with less expensive Palo Escrito rosewood and finished in lacquer, rather than a French polished shellac. The traditionally constructed cedar top offers significant volume and an explosive, flamenco guitar-like attack with each note. There are several small nicks and scratches in the finish, but no cracks or structural damage of any kind, so the guitar can be played without having to worry about the finish. Students, teachers, and aspiring young players would benefit from having this quality level of guitar rather than one of the many less interesting production line options currently available in this price range. At half the price of a new one, this German Vazquez Rubio Estudio model is a fantastic deal.
