Description: The guitars of Carsten Kobs are now being played a growing list of top concert artists including Aniello Desiderio, Zoran Dukic, Hubert Käppel, and others. David Russell and Manuel Barrueco have also received instruments from him. With that stellar lineup of performers, it is no wonder that his waiting list is quickly growing. This 2024 double top guitar features several new refinements that Carsten is very happy with, and his guitars are now considered among the very best German double top instruments. This guitar features a lovely cedar double top with a Nomex core and Indian Rosewood back and sides. It is incredibly light weight, and the entire instrument resonates when it’s being played. The volume is simply stunning, and the dynamic range is remarkable as well. The basses are fast and explosive with good depth and plenty of overtones and the trebles are strong, thick, and even throughout the entire register. The sound is complex, clear, and resonant, with a wide range of tone colors and a strong mid-range boost typically found in double top instruments. With a comfortable neck shape and raised fingerboard, playability is a dream. The aesthetic is traditional though the construction, volume, and sound character is entirely modern. Concert artists and competitors will find this instrument capable of filling the largest halls with a full, clear, and beautiful tone.
