Visesnut Adjustable Hard Shell Classical Guitar Case

The Visesnut case is impressive. The guitar support system definitely holds the guitar snugly, although it is a little awkward to use at first. That's because you're working around the guitar neck in a small space. But once you get the hang it, it's fine.

There are lots of nice touches besides the ones they highlight. The one that capped it off for me was the included straps which attach with threaded rings instead of carabiner-type hooks, which will spring loose from time to time.

The only shortcoming is the size of the storage box which is too narrow to hold an extra set of strings. That said, it's a small concession to make for having such a strong, well designed case.

I am very pleased with this travel case. Excellent materials and good value. I recommend getting the soft cover it you plan to travel with the case. Customer service on this purchase was excellent.

Excellent case! Great protection, yet very light and compact. Exactly what I was looking for.

I tried to order this case from 2 guitar stores in the Seattle area. This brand of case is difficult to get. One store recommended "Strings By Mail" because they knew they had a good relationship with Visesnuts distributor. It was a long wait. 6 weeks actually. Just be forewarned it will be a long wait.

The Visesnut is light and seems durable on par with other high end instrument cases. I would feel confident traveling with it.


The adjustment mechanism doesn't work as easily as appears in the video, but appears to snuggle the guitar just fine for the road.

The handle is comfortable. I prefer a shoulder strap to the backpack straps and am disappointed that this case doesn't allow this. Given this may be my unique preference that has gone unmet since the passage of Leaf cases, this is a minor issue.

There are several aspects that I don't like, but may come to find they are less problematic with use.

There is no padding on bottom of the case except along the periphery to cradle the instrument. While this may have saved some weight, it is nerve-wracking to hear the guitar thud when I miss getting it in just right. I compensate by adding something to soften the blow.

I don't care for the latches at all. There is no question about their security, but they require to much work to close them. You have to look at them to make sure the securing mechanism is raised high enough to extend above the catch. Perhaps with more time, I will come to not notice (perhaps even latch it without looking). I believe this is not unique to high end cases, so I have added incentive to get used to it.

It would have been nice to have the case include a hygrometer.

One last point: the popularity of this case caused a long wait time for its delivery. This was not a problem for me. If one is in a hurry, make sure about the availability before purchase.

All told, foreknowledge may have given me pause, but I believe the case will be worth the cost in the long run.
