Description: Matthew Ray Chaffin is a Michigan-based luthier who builds traditional solid top instruments that have impressive volume coupled with a beautiful tone character. This particular guitar is in like-new condition. It features a stunning set of cocobolo for the back and sides along with a European Spruce top that has a good deal of Haselfichte. It is wonderfully clear, but has plenty of overtones to create a complex, piano-like sound that lies somewhere between the Granada makers and Hauser style instruments. It also features a comfortable neck shape, jumbo frets, a 20th half fret, and Gotoh Premium tuners which collectively make playability a breeze. This guitar has it all: great sound, lovely aesthetic, and excellent playability – it’s a true delight to play.
