Alaska Pik Extra-Large 5103

Good product. Is too tight on index finger, pinches skin on bottom of index finger.

I have bought this style of pick from other places and needed this size. The finish is rough and feels cheap.

After I developed an infection UNDER the nail of my right thumb, an antibiotic took care of the infection, but two weeks later the nail FELL OFF. As I am a classical guitarist, this was quite upsetting. I was almost contemplating suicide when my wonderful teacher found the Alaska Pik, Extra Large! I put a thick bandaid over the exposed nail bed (which was very sensitive) placed the Alaska pik on top, and then wrapped the whole thing with electrical tape (very thin, strong, and it held tightly) to hold the pick in place. After I filed the pick a bit, trimmed the ends, and got the positioning right, the sound, much to my amazement, was reasonably acceptable (I am not a public performer. ). The black electrical tape made me look like Darth Vader, so I ordered white electrical tape from Amazon. Now it looks like a bandage, and if anybody asks, I just say "a little accident in the shop" and that's the end of the discussion. So you saved another distraught classical guitarist! After years of frustration with my classical guitar nails I finally decided to try Alaska Piks. When they arrived they felt a bit awkward but I cut, filed, and sanded them aggressively. I also cut out the middle top brace to increase comfort level. Now they are extremely comfortable and sound fantastic. If you struggle with nail maintenance I highly recommend giving these a try!
