Creator Description: "The desire was for a mellow tone with a not so low an end and a thicker high end sound. A friend actually recommended something like this combination. After tweaking it a bit it worked. The sound is mellow sitting right in the middle of most jazz sets. After this, I found that Rich Severson also recommends this string combination for the same reason."
