No more floppy 5th strings!
Review by Frederick R. on 18 Jun 2020 review stating No more floppy 5th strings! The XLB145T is now my go-to 5th string for my Sterling By Music Man S.U.B Ray5. I tune it to B and use with the EXL170BT balanced-tension 4-string set. This combination enables me to tighten up the low B-string for more-consistent pitch while slightly lowering the total tension on the bass compared to an EXL165-5 set. The XLB145T tension tuned to B is very close to the tension of each EXL170BT string tuned to standard pitch. Plus, the tapered ball end makes for easy string changes.
