D'Andrea Pro Plec 330 Small Pointed Square Gloss Shell Pick, 1.5mm

i like this pick so much that i backordered a pack. not sure if d'andrea is still making them but i hope so. the surface is very smooth and glossy, which i like. being 1. 5mm it makes some "ping" but it's quiet enough that it doesn't annoy me.

i love the shape, which is more comfortable than it looks. the shallow angle with a defined tip suits my playing style and feels fast, since i tend to prefer to hold the pick in a way that's only a little slanted. if you slant a lot for fast playing, then this pick won't suit that technique. i don't have a preference abt the flat sides but the flat top helps the pick fit into the joint of my finger and feel whether the pick is rotating in my fingers. overall it feels distinctly friendly

the sound is very warm and mellow

it's just small enough to fit inside a standard pick, so I've been using it as a stencil to file other picks down for a variety of sounds with this shape

Each of the Pro Plec shapes produces different amounts of flex even though they’re all the same thickness. Try all the shapes to see which you prefer. They produce beautiful tone.

An interesting shape. Thick. Good tone. Works well for fast picking but for me it's a little short for strumming.
