49 years of playing guitar (50 years this coming Christmas) have taught me a lot about guitar strings and retailers. Over the years I have tried literally every brand and type of string available. There is no doubt in my mind that these days the good old Ernie Balls sound just as good and last just as long as any of the recent high-tech and high-priced items. They are also by far the most consistent, as I rarely if ever find a "bad" wound string - something I cannot say about some of the other brands so highly touted in the online forums.

As for retailers, I have never found ANY other, either online or "brick and mortar", that could hold a candle to Strings By Mail. Their selection and pricing, and especially their reasonable shipping charges and matchless quality of service puts the other to shame. I won't go anywhere else. You shouldn't either.

I like buying strings from Strings by Mail because, most importantly, the strings are good - they seem new and there's no rust (which I can't say about everyoneI've ordered from). they come in a sealable plastic bag which makes it easier to store the ones I save for later. Also, the strings usually arrive within 2-3 days. I'm glad that this business exists.
