GHS Bright Bronze 80/20 BB40M Acoustic Guitar Strings Med 13-56

Shipping was crazy slow.

I've always preferred the look and sound of true bronze strings for acoustic arch-top guitars. Since my all-time-favorite strings are no longer being manufactured (D'Angelico by D'Merle), I've tried different brands in order to familiarize myself with what's available on the market today. Personally, my least favorite are the Phosphor-Bronze, as they sound and feel dull and tarnished, and I've also recently tried a set of the new "Prohibition-Bronze" strings with the same result. Then, I came to the GHS "Bright Bronze" and they seemed to have it all - rich overtones, comfortable feel, and bright, shiny appearance...what more could you want?!! I tried them on a friend's 1947 Epiphone Triumph non-cutaway and they were superb. The gauge I prefer, as on my own D'Angelico "New-Yorker" (in nickel roundwound), is the medium gauge 13-56. As I have gotten older my ability to hear higher frequency sounds has diminished as tested by an audiologist. I've noticed this when playing my dreadnoughts. They still have that great booming bass but every year for the past several, their higher pitched string's sound seemed to be getting worse, less crisp, with less sustain, etc. I've blamed it on bad strings, high humidity, even the guitar going bad. Finally I reasoned that my problem could be related to my less than normal ability to hear high frequency sounds. So I looked for a guitar string that was advertised to be very bright compared to my normal medium gauge phosphor bronze. I found the solution to my problem with these GHS Bright Bronze 80/20 BB40M Acoustic Guitar Strings. I use Mediums 13-56 strings. Indeed they brightened up my dreadnought sounds. My guitars now sound like they did 10 years ago when my hearing was good. So if you want to brighten up your sound, by all means try these strings. Especially you old guys like me whose hearing might have slipped a bit over the years. They are very reasonably priced. And they last me for two month of daily playing.
