I wanted to also say that I saw someone complain on Amazon about these, how the color wore off fast. Well that was a few years old, that complaint.

DR has done a lot of R+D to make them much better. I got a pair of these neons about the same time that was written and the coating did wear off.

I'm happy to say I'm onto week four with daily playing and none of it has worn off.

Also there was a complaint about buzzing and/or a muted sound.

Well that's true, but it's that muted sound that I actually wanted. It's a great effect on my old Korean practice guitar. I have other better guitars but this one is the work horse. Everyone who plays it loves it, and it was literally $20 at a yard sale in Vermont 20 years ago.

So expect a different sound, but I for one was looking for this sound.

At an impromptu bar gig I did, they happen to have a blacklight on and that really makes these come alive.

Between the conversation starter that the strings are, and the dark, daunting sound they gave my music, I've been asked back for Wednesday night!

This is a great company with a diverse selection of strings and accessories. I also like the product descriptions by experienced people. I plan to use them in the future.

I usually pick up strings when I'm at the guitar store, but when you're snowbound in a blizzard and you can simply go online and order from Strings By Mail, the word "convenience" comes to mind but really for me they were a "lifesaver".

The full scope of what I like about them, cannot be explained here. You'll have to try them for yourself. When the mail comes and your strings are delivered, you'll know why I gave them five stars.
