La Bella 760-FD Danelectro Stainless Steel Flat Wound Strings (42-96)

Recently worked on a Silvertone 1444 (Danelectro) bass. The design of the integrated tailpiece / bridge saddle excludes the use of other string sets; the notches at the rear of the bridge plate are too narrow for the strings to "catch" in the slots. Rather than machine slots appropriate for modern string windings, research led me to this set. Short scale and they sound fantastic too!

Excellent product and excellent service

Danelectros were made for flatwound strings; they even out their frequency spectrum and also make them more versatile for finger or plectrum playing. It's hard to find ones that are the correct scale; these are really the only ones that work. But they're the same as what we use on our full scale basses; just a different length and tension. So it's a familiar and comfortable feel and sound. Great for modern as well as vintage sounds.
