This is Volume 3 of the three volumes that Mangado has written about Fernando Sor. In it Mangado describes Sor’s time in Paris from 1827 until his death in 1839. For each year he gives full details of Sor’s life and that of his daughter Caroline during that year, and the concerts in which Sor appeared. He also describes Sor’s participation in the “early music” concerts of Fétis. Mangado continually cites original documents in detail. A notable contribution of this Volume 3 is that for each year Mangado gives an annexe which is a full list of the advertisements for publications of guitar music which had appeared in Paris during that year, not only guitar music composed by Sor but also guitar music published by other composers, something which is a valuable research tool for anyone exploring not just Sor but also all guitar music in Paris in this period from 1827 to 1839. It has 826 pages and is written in Spanish.
