Description: Yamaha concert guitars are undervalued today due to the proliferation of the inexpensive production models that bear little resemblance to this beautiful concert instrument. In the 1970’s, The GC (Grand Concert) 20 was a very expensive, handmade guitar that cost somewhere near a typical Japanese persons’ yearly salary. Andres Segovia played at least one concert on a Yamaha and used to use one for practicing. This particular instrument has a spruce top and exquisite Brazilian rosewood on the sides and back. The setup is exceptional and features a low action, perfectly fitted new frets, and a wonderful neck shape. Aside from the new frets, it is in original condition with no cracks or repairs. The sound is clear and warm - a very lovely classical tone character - with full, round trebles and sparkling basses. A very refined sounding instrument indeed! This guitar sounds and plays like a dream and is well worth the price. It would be a great fit as a concert or recording guitar, as a teaching or gigging guitar, or as a first handmade guitar for an aspiring student.
