Description: Matthew Ray Chaffin is a Michigan-based luthier who builds traditional solid top instruments that have impressive volume coupled with a beautiful tone character. This 2016 guitar is in excellent condition with only modest playing wear and no cracks or repairs. It features a beautiful European spruce top that has a good deal of Haselfichte, and is complimented by black walnut on the sides and back. The tone is clear with a strong fundamental, offering players a lovely traditional sound that lies somewhere between the Granada makers and Hauser style instruments. It also features a 640 mm scale length, a comfortable “D” neck shape, 20th half fret, 12-hole tie block, and premium Alessi tuners which collectively make playability a breeze. This guitar has it all: great sound, lovely aesthetic, and excellent playability – it’s a true delight to play.
