Did not play in tune

The treble strings would not play in tune from one end of the neck to the other. If I used my tuner on the open B string, by the time I got to the 12 fret it was out of tune by half a pitch! I had a lesser problem with the G string and just a slight problem with the high E. I have never had strings play out of tune when first installed. The wound strings seemed to be right on. Luckily I had a broken set of another brand I could use to substitute for the B and G strings, but am still limping along with the E. I have no idea what happened. I play on a "well-seasoned" Juan Estruch which is not particular at all on which strings I use. Just weird.

Q: I have never seen classical guitar strings with loop ends, only ball end or plain. Can you actually hook the strings to the guitar with the loop ends (like a mandolin, gypsy guitar, etc.)?

A: Hello Matthew ,
These strings are essentially regular plain end classical strings that will require tying off. The wound strings do have a tiny loop of core material visible but not anything that would be used for securing the string. We will contact Black Diamond about this and update our listing as needed. Thanks for bringing this to our attention; it is quite confusing that they have labeled their packages in this manner.
