Creator Description: After years of switching between full sets of La Bella 2001 and D'Addario Composites, I decided to mix them and see if the clear, bell-like character of 2001 trebles and the punchy, aggressive character of Composite basses would compliment each other.

On my Carrington, D'Addario trebles sounded ok, but lacked color and the sound failed to really "jump out" of the guitar. Similarly, the La Bella 2001 basses were decent, but a bit pale and lacked good separation.

Since I have big fingers with thick calluses, the stiffer Composite basses don't "roll" under the left hand like the more flexible La Bella basses do, which helps everything feel more stable and easier to control. The Composite basses also are more expressive and have clearer projection at softer dynamic levels.
