Galli Genius GR65 Nylon NT Classical Guitar Strings, Full Set

I've been playing with the same brand of strings (I'll call it "X") for some years, and although I've been satisfied on how X sounded, I felt some discomfort with the tension and executing some ornaments. Then I tried the "SBM Professional Choice" collection to try something new and how surprised was I with the Galli strings! I've never heard of it neither new anyone who'd used it before. From day one they felt and sounded pretty good (which is unusual for new strings). This is my second purchase of it. I thank the guys from SBM for putting these selections out there!

I bought these to try, along with some other strings I've used before. They're not bad, but don't seem better than The LaBella 2001s I'm used to. I notice that they've changed the Galli strings, but Strings By Mail hasn't updated their description. They now have "crystal" trebles and coated basses. The coating is not visible...it's apparently to prevent tarnish.
As always, SBM had what I wanted in stock and delivery was very quick.

These strings produce warm rich bass tones. The treble strings are bright and responsive, letting the player bring out melody lines. I have had success with Galli strings on professional and student level classical guitars. Great on Romanillos style guitars!

I have always loved this set for it's tone and ease of play. However, the 4th string's wrapping breaks/cracks at the 3rd through the 7th frets after only a few days of play. This has happened on every set that I have tried over the years (whether it is the light or normal set). It appears that the metal wrapping is too thin for the 4th string. Very unfortunate for an otherwise great set of strings.
