D'Addario NB1252BT Nickel Bronze Acoustic Strings Light 12-52

I *love* these on my Taylor, which is a bit bright with typical strings, especially when they are new. The Nickel Bronze bring a richness to the wound strings that make this guitar sound bigger and deeper. The strings are also quiet and comfortable under the fingers.

I discovered these strings by way of Chris "Critter" Eldridge. His acoustic tone is wonderful so I thought I would give them a try. I switched from a wrapped string to this set of strings and they sound wonderful.

If (like me) you've experimented with using electric (nickel wound) strings on your acoustic you probably know they are more comfortable to finger than phos-bronze, but the tone lacks any highs & lows typical of phos-bronze & bronze strings. These D'Addario Nickel-Bronze strings IMO nicely combine the ease of play of nickel wound strings with the brightness of bronze. They are certainly not as bright as phosphor bronze or even 80/20 bronze, but they do have a nice lively acoustic sound. I like these on my Taylor 414 and GS-mini guitars. Only thing I dislike is that they seem pricey. Hopefully price will come down once other string manufacturers also start offering a nickel-bronze option.
