D'Addario NW049 XL Nickel Wound Electric String, .049 gauge, Single

D’Addario strings have been my go-to strings for many years. I use their nickel silver, phosphor bronze, and nylon strings on all of my guitars. I’ve started buying more singles in recent years because I routinely experiment with different string gauge combinations for specific guitars and situations that differ from gauges found in their standard sets. Now that I’ve discovered Strings By Mail and found they offer the service of specing out custom sets I will likely begin taking advantage of that when planning ahead. While I have a great local music store where I can buy sets and singles, they don’t always have the singles I need in the short term. Also, music stores don’t typically stock half sets for nylon string guitars, which are mostly what I purchase. In all fairness to music stores, I recognize that they have limited wall space to stock strings and must stock only what commonly sells. So having a specialized business to turn to, like Strings By Mail, is extremely helpful! They have broader offerings than the supplier I used happily for years, who recently went out of business.
