Great for detuning.

The tapered . 130 is the right 5th string for the . 45-. 105 set tuned a half step down, not loose feeling at that tuning.

An Excellent Replacement

I am a life long bassist, however, I am also a life long guitarist as well. As a guitar player, I have used D'Addario guitar strings exclusively for 30+ years. As a bassist, I have used LaBella exclusively for 30+ years. A few years ago LaBella stopped making my favorite set... so I switched to another LaBella set. Then they stopped making that set. Ouch! When I heard this news I bought up as many sets as I could find, however, most of those were only four string sets. This 130 gauge tapered low B from D'Addario is as close as I am every going to get to a LaBella replacement. They are a great company and I have been a big fan, and they did not disappoint with this low B. I am sure someday I will try out the rest of the set!
