GHS LS250 Silk & Steel Mandolin Strings, Loop End Regular Gauge 11-40

Great tone, nice smooth feel. Well worth the price!

I have a mandolin that has great highs, but the lows were just a bit lacking. I had been using another popular brand, but decided to go back to the "GHS Silk & Steels" for a test run. They did not disappoint!!!!!!! These strings brought back the lows & reduced a BIG chunk of the overtones that I had been battling for several years. I only have one negative. They don't last quite as long as the other brand I had been using. That being said, I still highly recommend these mandolin strings!!!!!!!

I had an opportunity to try out "Wegan" picks several years ago when they first came out, but the pick I tried was much heavier than my preferred thickness, so I ended up giving it away. This thickness is just right for me & I can now, after giving it a full work out on mandolin & guitar, I can give them an "excellent" rating. Glides off the strings with ease & let's the instrument show it's true colors of "warm & cozy mids" mixed with "punchy & sparkilng highs". You will find a subtle difference between the black vs white version, but both produce a great, balanced tone from your favorite mandolin or guitar.

As for the "Martin Flex core Phosphor Bronze", these are my "go to" string for my vintage guitars. They bring out the full spectrum of tone & character in a vintage Martin without the added stress of full tension strings.

As for the "GHS Silk & Steel Mandolin Strings"..............I haven't tried them recently, but I have no doubts in the quality of GHS strings. It's all I ever use on banjo, so I expect them to perform as GHS always does. "AHEAD OF THE PACK"

I first heard about these strings from luthier, Jerry Rosa of Rosa String Works. I play a TKD Hawk, F style mandolin and I love the tone of the silk and steel strings. I play an out an hour daily and change strings every 3 months.
