Hannabach 870 Silver Wound 8703HT- 3rd string (g) High Tension

i was not happy with the sonic performance of the the 3rd/G string on my Cordoba 45 Limited. i had already tried standard and carbon std tension and my preferred high tension but for whatever reason tone was dull in relation to the other strings. i did a little research and found that there were wound Gs available so with a news set of Savarez 510AJPs i ordered two of the Hannabach 870s. there is no comparison between the previous strings and the Hannabach- difference is like night and day. superb tone and clarity. on my next order with SBM i will add some additional backups for future restrings. and a special Thank You to Matt for going above and beyond on my orders.

I’m using D’Addario Pro-Arte EJ46 HT on my 1962 Martin C. I liked everything about the D’Addario strings except the dull, tubby nylon G string. So I set out to find a better G string.

First tried D’Addario HT Carbon Trebles, only changing the G string. There wasn’t enough difference between the nylon G and the carbon G. Still tubby.

Then I ordered this wound G string. Silver wound matches the silver wound D’Addario strings, and the tone matches too. Loud enough, bright and resonant.

My search for the perfect G string is over.
