GHS Americana Cryogenic Treated Acoustic Guitar Strings Lt 12-54

Ive always been partial to a bright string for finger style so have mainly use 80/20s or some such variant of that over many different brands, however, I have found that they can be just a hair too bright and "harsh" for my likes.
These GHS Americanas seem to have the same attack and brightness but just turned down a hair. Almost as if it's right in-between 80/20s and PBs (Which after a quick look on GHS' website, this is in fact the case).

If you're looking for a bright string but toned down a hair, these are the ones for you! Give em a try!

Tried a set of the light gauge - excellent volume balance across the board. Also pleased with the how the bass strings sound a bit brighter and the trebles a bit warmer. "Goldilocks effect" - not too little or too much, but just right. The next set will be the extra light, just to hear the difference, if any.

About 8 years ago I built myself a guitar similar to a Martin OM. I'd always had pretty good luck with GHS strings, so I bought 6 or 7 sets of different types (bright, 80/20, phosphor, Americana, etc.), talked a very knowledgeable friend into helping me, and one afternoon we sat down and tested strings. None of the sets sounded particularly notable until we tried the Americanas, (At the time they were called Laurence Juber Signature Bronze, but when Juber changed affiliations GHS had to change the name.) The sound was dramatically better than any of the other strings we tried. Clearly, they were the strings for that guitar. I've continued to use them ever since.

Now, YOUR guitar may prefer something else, or you may prefer a different sound than I do, but you may want to try these strings and see how they work for you.

Great way to buy strings

I use these strings for fingerstyle and all around. They last a long time and are a bit heavier than the John Pearse Phosphor/Bronze Silks I also like. These strings last a long time and I favor them over a tad over the D'Addario EJ16 (because of the sound). I think they used to be listed as "Laurance Juber". They are balanced and sound good on both a Collings OM and a Bourgeous 00. I will order them again. They are worth a try!
