GHS Martino Flats 16-56

definitely not the blues or rocker string set. strung on a 62 epiphone broadway, these give plenty of stable resistance for me when thumb picking and comping. with a pick, they give plenty of firmness for precise jazz phrases. keep them clean and they can last almost a month, unless you gig frequently. i believe i’ve found my reference string set. thanks SBM

Great slide strings too

these are excellent jazz strings and the 16 and 18 plain also make them perfect for slide guitar.

If honey could sing!

These strings sound full and sweet! They definitely sound better after being on the guitar as well for some reason but that was my experience. They will work on a 25.5 scale but are rather rough on the hands after a while inless you down tune. But on a 24.75 scale length guitar they work great with standard tuning. I use them for jazz mainly on my tele with 24.75 scale length neck with CC neck pickup run through a acoustic image Clarus head and Raezers stealth 12 bottom and it sounds like musical honey in a good way...... if that’s possible. Anyhow I’m hooked and would suggest giving them a try! Can’t beat the price!

My Favorite Set of Strings

I've been using these Pat Martino .016-.056 GHS flats as my go-to strings for almost two years and I've yet to find anything I like better. I still have the first pair on my Les Paul and they've amassed hundreds of hours of playing time and they're still going! I use this set on three of my guitars and use the GHS Pat Martino Light .015-.052. set on two others that feel better with the lighter gauge. These will not tarnish and the sound mellows out to perfection after a few months. The warm, yet defined sound of these strings has gotten more compliments from other players than any other set I've ever used. I use these for all styles -- they're not just for jazz -- the sound of these on a Les Paul breaking up an overdriven tube amp is incredible. Try these out.
