TUSQ Bi-Angle Pick 2mm Vintage (Warm), One Pick

I originally bought this pick because it looked interesting and I had not seen it before (I love to buy picks and experiment with different shapes, materials and sounds on my guitar and mandolin). I wasn't entirely impressed with the finish on the pick (there was a mold line around the edge and some rough spots), but I recently sanded those down and beveled the edges, which I do frequently anyway, so the finish wasn't a huge deal. The sound this pick makes is amazing though! I usually use a pick that avoids the impact sound, but the pick sound from this pick is quite nice. Very musical, medium toned. If you drop the pick on the ground, you'll see what I mean, it makes a very nice *plink* sound. Tusq also claims this material helps to generate stronger and increased tones and overtones ( and they make bridges/nuts/saddles out the material, which is nice enough for martin to use on some models).

I also like the bi angle, because I love the speed and twang a pointed tip gives me, but a very round edge is so rich with great fundamental, I end up using both! ( This pick was used on an F mandolin with heavy strings, and a dreadnaught with silk and bronze strings, both with great effect.) I started not knowing anything about this pick, to really planning my next purchase where I will test their other materials, thicknesses, and shapes.
