Wegen Picks BG140 9 Hole Bluegrass Pick RightHand White 1.40mm, One Pick

I’ve tried a LOT of different picks. Like most I started with Fender celluloid and Dunlop Tortex. From there, I dabbled in V picks and Gravity picks. After that I went even further and discovered Red Bears, Tone Slabs, and Blue Chips. The Wegen BG might just be my favorite out of all of them. It's got the sound and feel of picks the cost 5 times as much. The shape is a lot like most XL Jazz styles but rounder at the tip, which is a plus to me- I don’t want something too pointy. Plus, there aren’t many others that offer a speed bevel at this price point. With dozens of picks at my disposal, I find myself always reaching for my BG140.

I’ve tried out loads of different picks for my mandolin. Lots of different Wegens too, of various shapes. I’ve got a Blue Chip too, but I find myself time and again reaching for one of these when I play.

As with all Wegens, they make a great sound with very little clickiness. But I prefer this shape to the more common triangle. I feel like the smaller width makes it easier to feel where the pick is in my grip. And it also helps be more accurate when doing stuff like crosspicking. And the price is right too!

I've been using these for over 20 years. They don't have a scratchy sound that comes from some of the other high end picks.

This is the second wegen pick I've purchased. The first was for my octave mandolin and this one was for my electric guitar. Both work great.
