Great tone, but it's starting to rust already

These strings have a great tone and I was amazed how they tuned well right out of the box, there was virtually no adaptation time. But after 1 week it's already starting to rust! I clean the strings every time after playing with a dry cloth and 'fast fret', and even doing so I started to notice that the treble strings are becoming harsh to the touch, after 1 week! I have Elixir strings on my other electric guitar, I installed them 3 weeks ago and they are still pristine!
