D'Addario Pro Arte J4503C - 3rd string (g) Composite .036

Coming from an acoustic guitar beginning, the nylon G always seemed “mushie” to me. I read using a composite G string eliminates much of that sound. This is the second time I’ve used it, have another in the basket. I’m satisfied with the results.
So if anyone else finds a nylon G Mushie, try using a carbon/composite G string it worked for me.

I have always enjoyed composite 3rd strings. Great with my Flamenco guitars (Spruce top & Cedar top, Cypress back & sides, Mahogany fretboard) not so much for my "guitarras negras” (Indian rosewood back and sides) because the strings are too deep in tone and low sustain for my “negras”. However, for the “blancas” they have a grittiness and feel to them with a rich sound for “pale wood” guitars. One of the best features of this string is that they STAY IN TUNE better than any other string. I tune them up, let it sit for a couple hours and fine tune it and “voila”, I am able to tune the other string from the composite for days to follow.

This is brighter more accurate blend in timbre with the B and D strings

After using the Zyex G string for a few years, plain nylon G strings sound too soft or weak to me. I use the Zyex almost exclusively now, or a carbon alternative.
