The support can be used in many differently positions. The suction cups are for real. Other similar products do not offer the same quality.

I bought mine from the de oro website before I found Strings by Mail but I'll still give it my review. I had a broken pelvis several years ago that makes the traditional Flamenco "right leg crossover" guitar holding technique a bit difficult for me. I've tried many different guitar supports including the metal classical and the "gitano" . But the de oro is the one I found best. I highly recommend a plastic layer to protect your finish (especially French polish). De Oro makes a plastic layer that clings by surface tension without adhesives that works just fine on my old, nitrocellulose Yamaha as well as my French polish luthier Flamenco Blanca and Negra.

Great suction cup adherence to both French polish and polyurethane. Functionally perfect for my needs - I play classical but hold the guitar in flamenco position with guitar on my right leg.
