From Ultex to everything…and back again

I used to play the Ultex 0.73’s back in my reggae days. Wanted something that sounded thicker now that I like to play heavier music. Ordered a bunch of singles from Strings by Mail. They have best selection and competitive prices as far as I can tell. I tried to order one of everything. Played the Dunlop FLOW for a while but came back to Ultex. Tried 1mm but too fat. 0.90s were sweet spot. Always liked the bright tone and feel of the Ultex striking the strings. Maybe playing the same pick for 20 years had something to do with it too. Everything else felt weird in between my fingers. Anywho…SBM is the only place I buy my picks and strings (11-50 Pyramid Pure Nickel Classics) from nowadays. Very reliable, fast shipping, and great selection. Thanks Strings by Mail!!!
