Why I ordered nylon strings for a steel string guitar
Review by Aaron C. on 5 Jul 2018 review stating Why I ordered nylon strings for a steel string guitar I have a Fender Starcaster. It's not a real expensive model of Fender, but I don't mind carrying it in my car and entering a market without it. It's designed for metal strings. The strings I have on it are fine with the exception of the B and E, which were murderous on my finger tips. I bought a full set of Fender nylons and simply replaced just the two offensive B and E strings. the sound is somewhat warmer, definitely more comfortable to play and I don't really detect any loss of volume. Of course, fresh strings always require additional tuning at first. I've had them on my Starcaster Acoustical for a week, as of this writing. I find them needing adjustment every time I pick it up to play . I play every day. Often in two or three sessions. Otherwise, this was definetly a good remedy. Incidentally, the other four strings seem to be well set and almost require no tuning.
