Hannabach Carbon - 3rd string (g), medium-high tension

I bought this because the most recent set of D'Addario EJ46FF HT strings had the "dreaded dead G-string. " I had used Hannabachs medium tension in the past and the G-string was perfect. So, I took a chance on a MHT G to install in place of the D'Addario G when I changed strings. This Med/High Tension string is better than the D'Addario but not as good as I had hoped.

I have been using the Hannabach Carbon G strings for as long as I can remember. I have tried almost every type of strings, including mixing different brands. My preference are the nylon strings for their warmth. Carbon strings, in general, are a little too bright for my taste. However, in nearly all the nylon sets I have tried, the G string invariably sounded a bit “tubby”. The Hannabach Carbon G seemed to provide the right complement to the Hannabach nylon tables. These G strings are a bit pricey, hence the 4 out of 5 star rating.

Nice and bright. Not dull like some nylon strings.
