Savarez Alliance 541R - 1st string (e), normal tension .0244

I prefer normal tension strings on my tenor ukuleles for my playing style. The 540R series was recommended to me 30 years ago by the luthier of one of my tenor ukuleles, and I now use them on my other tenor, too.

I've had 3 e strings break on me this year, this last one scratching my soundboard. I'm throwing the ones I have out and hoping that it was just a bad batch, otherwise I do love these strings so I will give the singles another shot. I never had the issue with the 6 string sets, just the singles for when the e string gets scratchy.

I’ve changed classical guitar strings dozens of times but never had the problems I experienced recently. Started with a new set of Savarez 510 ARJP, . 024 high e. Either couldn’t get it to grip or it stretched until it broke. Ordered another high e (Alliance) and a complete set of Savarez 510 ARJP’s. Again the hi e broke. Trying for the 3rd time with . 024 from the new set. Wish me luck. Maybe I should switch from France to Italy for strings.

Over the last year 2 have snapped on me, otherwise this gets 5 stars
