What do you want? I ordered strings. You sent strings. That's the minimum anyone would we expect. How excited do you expect me to get?

my 58cm 3/4 scale guitar came with a beautifully sounding Galli string set with a wound G string. wound G strings are known to help the sound quality of short scale guitars. while those strings sounded good I just was not a fan of the wound metal on the G string for the scratchy sound generated by the fingernails. these Hannabach Kinder strings have solved this issue for me and are even better than the original strings. they are very resonant, ringing and produce beautiful overtones in the trebles. This set comes with both a nylon and a metal wound G string, which is nice as it allows you to try both. I am more than pleased with the nylon G string. The wound one rings even more but I prefer the nylon feel.

I put these "3/4 size" Kinder strings on a 615mm scale guitar, which arguably is more a 7/8 guitar, so I might have had better results with the 7/8 string size.

As has been noted in a review of the 7/8 size Kinder strings, the trebles are relatively dull, with the G string, particularly flat, as is common.

I also found that the guitar (particularly on the bass strings) was harder to fret than previously, and when compared to my other guitar. After checking string height at the nut and bridge, I concluded that the issue might be the tension of the Kinder strings. When I compared actual tension/gauge specs, I found that the Kinder string tension was significantly higher than for Savarez high-tension strings and quite a bit higher when compared to medium tension strings (whether Savarez and D'Addario).

i replaced the Kinder strings with Savarez medium tension strings and noticed an immediate improvement in both the tone of the trebles (much brighter, in a good way) and playability.

The usual advice for strings for short-scale guitars (if not using a specifically-short scale string like the Kinder) is to use high tension strings to compensate for the lower tension of a short scale.

Otherwise (It is said) the tension will be too low, and may result in problems staying in tune or in bad-sounding, "wobbly" strings.

However, I have not found this to be the case when using Savares medium-tension strings on short scale instruments -- and the improvement in playability is important, particularly for younger students.
