Savarez Corum 500J HT Classical Guitar Strings, Bass Set

Savarez are my favorite classical guitar strings. But they tend to go dull fairly quickly with regular practice. I can usually keep the trebles on a good bit longer than the basses. I love the tone in the basses. They resonate really well with my 1999 spruce top Mikhail Robert.

I love the sound of these strings. But maybe it's the piece I've been concentrating on lately that caused these strings wear out in a short time. I use Hannabach Goldin trebles that seem to last forever, but I replace the Savarez basses 2-3 times during the life of the trebles.

I've used Strings by Mail several times in the past, always with stellar results. The options for strings as well as the turn-around time have always been great.
I needed to get a replacement set of bass strings for my classical guitar because two of the bass strings, for some reason, had developed a groove right at the point where they met the 3rd fret. I'd only restrung the guitar about 4 weeks prior. Anyway, these bass strings did the trick and have been working fine over the past month.

The right strings were sent with fast delivery. These strings are a great complement to the La Bella normal tension rectified strings on my Cordoba C7.

I like these strings. I was sold on the Crystal trebles right from the start and went back and forth between Cantiga and Corum basses. For now, I have settled on the Crystal/Corum for a long time to come. We’ll see. At least for my working guitar, a Cordoba GK Pro Negra. The Cantigas can sound even better on their own but they seem to over-power the trebles - at least the HT ones do. The NT Cantiga I really like on another guitar where I need less tension. They are both good really. I may keep experimenting but my main strings now are Crystal/Corum HT.
