Hannabach Precision Smooth Polished 8507MT - Med Tension Classical Guitar Strings, Bass Set
set of 3 bass strings (D, A, E) silverplated copper on multifilament nylon core, polished to a smooth surface.
Note: The technique of polishing takes away the silver plating slightly exposing the copper wire. As a result, the color may vary from silver to brown to gray.

Not worth the high cost

I have tried pretty much every type of string I can on my guitar over the last 16 years and I have to say I have never been so disappointed in a set of strings. I tried these just to see if there was a noticeable difference in fret noise. It's a marginal difference in fret noise overall with a huge drop off in tone quality. I have used Hannabach 8157MT many times and they have a great presence and tone where these Precision Smooth Polished strings sound like a 6 month old set of 8157MT basses as far as volume, tone, and overall presence. Very disappointed in the high cost and low quality sound. I won't buy these ever again and I'm probably just going to throw out the second set I bought. The only reason they didn't get a one star rating is because they do stay in tune well but that doesn't make up for all of the other bad qualities of these strings.

Surprisingly uninteresting..

I had anticipated the Germans of Hannabach building a great polished string. However, I was unimpressed. They were rough to the touch, and less than inspired tonally.
