Great Bass Flats with an Edge of Roundwounds
Review by Jorge P. on 24 Mar 2026 review stating Great Bass Flats with an Edge of Roundwounds I am a big fan of Dogal Strings. For bass, I have used the Dogal R44 vintage traditional, and they are superb (actually the best) for a traditional flatwound sound. The Jaco Carbon Steel strings are different. They feel like flats but sound and perform like roundwounds. They are very smooth and low tension, but not floppy. They have a more a of a modern sound. For motown and tradional thump, probably I will still use the R44s; for everything else the Jacos from now on
