K&M Heli 2 Acoustic Classical Guitar Stand 17580, 5 3/8in. Arm, Black

The completely revised world-renowned classic stand is presented in a new look. The instrument is particularly well cared for thanks to the elaborate new rubber structure. With the new innovative adjustable cross bar, guitars of different sizes or even other instruments such as a cello or French horn can be placed on the stand. For storage and transport the stand folds flat. In addition, we provide a practical transport lock. An additional feature includes integrated guitar pick holders. Heli 2 is available in black, red, blue and cork.

I've stayed away from triangle stands...they are all so flimsy...until I found this one..sturdy !! So I ordered another one for my electrics!!

Good Stand, Good Price

There's really nothing wrong with the stand, except that ir's a little wide. I need to be careful when placing my classical guitar on it, but it holds well and there are no rough edges to scratch the instrument.

Q: Are both the black and cork model safe for nitrocellulose finishes?

A: This is from K&M:

Our guitar stands are safe for lacquer finishes. Please note, Gibson does NOT put a hardener in their finish so it never completely cures. If you leave a Gibson guitar on any stand for an extended period of time you may see some marks in the finish where the guitar made contact with any stand. The finish tends to "move". You will not get the chemical reaction where the lacquer gets soft, milky-colored, etc.

It is best to not leave any lacquer finished guitar on any stand for a prolonged time, but ours is as safe as any. Of course, the cork is probably the best option since it is an organic material and tends to not leave any residue or marks on lighter colored finishes..

Finally, there are no 100% guarantees when it comes to stands and finishes.

Q: Other than the color, is there any difference in the material that comes into contact with the guitar for the black one and the cork model?

A: Hello Mike ,
The black stand is a rubber type material only. The cork stand does appear to incorporate cork into the rubber material. It is not pure cork though.
